Roseanne ‘s joke about minority television proved how classless she really is

Roseanne, the white-trash of all television, is back on the airwaves.  And, with that, came the trash remarks about minority television because Trump supporters feel that a prominently-white television show is better than the rest. In the show, Roseanne, made a wisecrack about minority shows after another high-profile character made a crack about sleeping through Wheel of Fortune.

In the latest episode, Roseanne can be seen saying that “It’s 11pm. We slept through Wheel of Fortune and Kimmel”.  Meanwhile,   Roseanne’s co-star  John Goodman took it a step further by adding “We missed all of the shows about black and asian families”. Ehum, essentially dismissing them because according to Roseanne “They’re just like us. There you are all caught up”.

Also meanwhile,  ehum,   people on social media have  begun reacting to the joke and it hasn’t been all that pleasant.

Here’s why the Roseanne joke about “missing all the shows about Black and Asian families” matters. At the very least, it’s reductive and belittling, as if to say those shows are nothing more than “Black” and “Asian” in their existence. 1/9
