Some of the big names in luxury are apparently not so immune to data breaches. According to the parent company of the stores named, Hudson & Co, confirmed the news on Friday. But, it gets deeper than just that. New York security firms (and we’re talking at least three here guys) say that Hudson & Co didn’t know of the apparent hack last year (because it began about a year ago) so hackers have been scooping up data on customers since about last Valentines Day.
Lord & Taylor did confirm to the Fix as did Hudson & Co in joint statements that customers would not actually be held liable for any charges. Both of the confirmations come as security firms are apparently noticing that credit cards for Hudson’s customers are reportedly popping up on the dark web across the world.
