In what most already knew and saw coming. On Friday, before the close of day, Andrew McCabe was informed that he had been fired abruptly (literally two days before his retirement). According to the Department of Justice, Jeff Sessions’ made the announcement privately — after weeks of controversy and trouble between McCabe and Trump.
The firing, perhaps, comes just days before an expected report from the Inspector General that paints a not so pleasing picture of McCabe. According to sources, the inspector general is apparently ready to recommend disciplinary action against McCabe, over, the fact that he was not forthcoming during the e-mail investigation into Hillary Clinton.
“I am being singled out and treated this way because of the role I played, the actions I took, and the events I witnessed in the aftermath of the firing of James Comey.” read a statement provided to the New York Times after his firing.
No word on exactly who may replace the near ghost-town DOJ at this time.
