Park Slope, Brooklyn, New York — Sad news here in Brooklyn today as authorities continue to question and investigate the deaths of two toddlers. According to police, a driver blew through a red-light in Park Slope, dragging one of the strollers a far 350 feet from the child’s mother.
Abigail Blumenstein and 1-year-old Joshua Lew were with their mothers, Lauren Lew and Ruthie Ann Blumenstein, when the incident happened. At least one of the mother’s is pregnant, and, was critically injured at the time of the accident. The Fix was able to confirm that as of this writing, amid the investigation, both women are in stable condition in the hospital.
Neither of the children survived the crazy driver. The 44-year-old driver has been identified as Dorothy Bruns, who, has been cited at least 4 times in the past two years for running for red lights. Police say she actually and literally tried to speed away, before (as pictured above) she crashed into cars nearby.
